At the heart of Batangas lies the beautiful Taal Volcano. Aside from its calm and serene aura, Taal is also known as the Barong and Balisong Capital of the country (Amazing!) Also, I’ve just found out that the biggest Catholic Basilica in Asia is the Taal Basilica. Just fantastic!
The mass we have attended was a wedding ceremony. And the epic part of it was that, we did not know that a wedding mass was going on since we were quite apart from the altar. (That awkward moment) The only thing we wanted was to be blessed and feel the spiritual aura in the Basilica. And that happened.
But we also went to Our Lady of Caysasay to experience the “Pahalik” as a ritual and tradition of people going there. Hi to Ninang Mhy, Mommy Jocie and Tita Marie na pumila nang mahaba. Haha. Buti pumila kami ng cousins ko nang mas maaga.
After the mass, we travelled to Alitagtag (hometown of Tita Juliet) who volunteered to sponsor our lunch. And the lunch was sumptous! Tinolang manok, fish, banana and more! Tita Juliet has a very warm and accommodating family. (Just like us, chos)
And another Sunday well-spent! Thanks, Taal. Till next time we meet.
